Instagram has more than 400 million monthly active users, that’s a huge market you are missing out on if you’re not using it. Thousands of brands around the world are using Instagram as a way to showcase products and share with their customers, so don’t miss out!
Campaigns
Instagram campaigns are a great way to target a large number of people. The more creative a brand is, the more attention it will receive.
For example Mercedes Benz promoted a new vehicle in the US on Instagram by utilising the hashtag #thingsorganisedneatly. The campaign prompted people to share images of what they would pack on a weekend road trip in the back of their car and encouraged them to take a flat picture of their belongings.
From this campaign, Instagram’s brand development lead, Patrick Workman, said “Mercedes-Benz was able to achieve its goals in terms of a 14-point lift in ad recall”

Having discussions and collaborating with your followers is the perfect way to gain trust and get plenty of people talking about your brand. Fashion brand @Nastygal, delivered a campaign known as ’Take a selfie with a stranger’. They asked their followers to post a ‘selfie with a stranger’ on Instagram, using the hashtag #NastyGalTruthorDare. In return they got the chance to win a Nasty Gal gift card. Could you do something similar for your brand?

Brand advocates
Instagram was one of the starting points for social advocates and ambassadors. YouTube and Instagram star, Ben Brown, posts some stunning photos and videos on his channel and has racked up over 500,000 followers. Brands like BMW and Travel Alberta have used his channel to promote their products.

Shoppable feeds
This one is great for brands with eye catching products, products that you only have to see to buy. Marketing solutions such as Like2Buy and LiketoKnowit make it really easy for Instagram users to shop their favourite photo, when they like a picture with a www.liketk.it link the product in the image will be stored into their Shoppable account.
